As one of the key parts of automatic winder, designing the air splicer with good performance is one of main important matters in the processes of textile technology development. In this paper, in order to clear the present development situation and the development trend, a review on the production and developing of air splicer at first. Then, the working principle and relevant institutions of air splicer were summarized, and various products were comprehensive analyzed. The air splicer mechanism was calculated and deducted based on kinematic, and the typical organization model was selected for a specific kinematics analysis, then the function relationship between various parameters such as displacement, velocity and Angle. This work can offer the theoretical foundation for designing an air splicer.Based on the using of virtual prototype software ADAMS, the kinematics simulation of the air splicer shearing mechanism was performed. The rationality of the mechanism motion and the analysis of kinetic theory were verified through the analysis of simulink result. This work can offer the theoretical foundation and a method for designing an air splicer, and it also can be used to design and improve the air splicer.Meanwhile, the structural strength calculation on scissors mechanism of air splicing was carried out by using the finite element analysis software ANSYS after building model by Pro/E, then the structure reliability was verified and the improvement methods was obtained. It provides a practical significance for structure optimization design of air splicing.The change of air flow field contact with the splicing cavity parameters on the basis of the mathematical mode of the air splicer was analyzed by using FLUENT. Aqueduct bodies with various shapes and the different relative angle between the two air inlets were specific studied. Simulation analysis and verification of every group parameter which influences the yarn quality by air splicing were carried out. The optimal parameters which analyzed in this paper can be used more in the future design.Through all analysis above, a new theory method of new schemes can be searched based on the system integration theory. It provides theory and application guide for the research field of air splicer, and it can be used in more and more analyses and designing works.
