In this paper, bamboo was used as raw material to produce bamboo charcoal in different carbonization technology. Methyl vinyl silicone (MVQ) and nitrile rubber (NBR) were prepared using the bamboo charcoal as conductive filler. The structure and property were studied by means of SEM-EDS,FT-IR,XRD and DTA-TG based on the experiments. The main reults are as as follows:(1) The resistivity of powered and nubbly bamboo charcoal decreased with the increase of the final carbonization temperature when FZ-2006 apparatus was used mesurating the resistivity of bamboo charcoal. Bamboo charcoal began to become a similar material structure to graphite when the carbonization temperature reached 1100℃and 700℃was the transition temperature of carbonization.(2) The conductivity and mechanical properties of bamboo charcoal /MVQ composites were studied by orthogonal testing design with bamboo charcoal as the conductive filler when the loading levels of bamboo charcoal ,fumed silica, hydroxy silicone oil, dicumyl peroxide were varied in the process. The effects of the volume resistivity, particle size and the amount of bamboo charcoal on the conductivity, mechanical properties of bamboo charcoal /MVQ rubber composites were also studied on the basis of orthogonal experiments. The results showed that the best conditions were as follows: methyl vinyl silicone rubber 100 phr, bamboo charcoal (the particle size is less than 25μm and volume resistivity is 0.11?·cm) 130 phr, fumed silica 3 phr, dicumyl peroxide 3 phr, hydroxyl silicone oil 2 phr. The volume resistivity, tensile strength and elongation reached about 0.63?·cm, 1.18 MPa and 132% at the best conditions above, which meets the requirement of high conductivity of bamboo charcoal /MVQ composites.(3) High conductivity of bamboo charcoal /NBR composites were prepared by latex compounding method. The optimum conditions were as follows:NBR 100 phr, bamboo charcoal (the particle size is less than 25μm and volume resistivity is 0.11?·cm) 210 phr, sulphur 2 phr, zinc oxide 4 phr, stearic acid 1 phr, accelerator DM (2,2'–dibenzothiazyl disulfide)0.8 phr. The volume resistivity, tensile strength and elongation reached about 0.45?·cm, 2.89MPa and 247% at the best conditions above, which meets the requirement of high conductivity of bamboo charcoal /NBR composites.(4) The conductive mechanism of high conductive MVQ and NBR composites were fitting with percolation theory, and the percolation threshold is 33.7wt% and 37.0wt% respectively. The volume resistivity of high conductive composites increased with the increase of temperature, but the PTC phenomenon of the high conductive composites was not aparent. (5) Two kinds of high conductivity of composites were characterized by SEM-EDS,FT-IR,XRD and DTA-TG, which validated the vulcanization and conductive mechanism of composites. It is found that bamboo charcoal had a good reinforcement effect on composites.
