According to geotechnical engineering at home and abroad, the corrosion of steel bolt indicate a serious impact on the safety and durability of bolting engineering. Fiber reinforced polymer (FRP) anchor with a light weight, high strength, corrosion resistance, low-cost and other excellent performance become a substitute for steel bolts, and it will has a good prospects in the promotion .Based on the geology investigation, the deformation of roadway surrounding rock and the supporting the status quo in Jin Shandian Iron Mine, the research on the steel bolting problems and the GFRP anchor promoting in Jin Shandian Iron Mine are carried.GFRP anchor are the non-metallic fiber composites, and mechanical properties are different with the different components. However, there are none relevant test standards of its mechanical properties . Firstly, the tensile, shear, torsion test of GFRP anchor are carried out. Bonded steel sleeve at both ends solve the tensile test specimen easily be crushed during the testing machine at both ends. This method can be used as the basis for the relevant test standards. Related test results and method could be the basis to select scientific parameters and operating system.According to practical production and bolting success experience the study carried out comparison test between the GFRP anchor and rebar anchor in a typical geological and mining conditions of the roadway in 16#,17#,18#,19# roadway-228 level Yu Huashi mining area in Jin Shandian.Safety and reliability of the GFRP anchor in Jin Shandian Iron Mine are analyzed through the type of failure and bolting angle two aspects. Related experimental methods for GFRP anchor could be the foundation for the promotion in the metal mines.
