The FBD series of local fan for mine is the most widely used at heading face undermine. Virtual prototype design and numerical simulation, including fluids analysis, structural static and dynamics analysis, was carried out to solve the problems of blade fracture, vibration and noise during the use of FBD series of local fan for mine, the results can provide a basis for optimal design. The main performed researches are as follows:(1) In order to determine the methods and ideas of virtual prototype design and numerical simulation for the FBD series of local fan, we took the FBD series of local fan as the research object and analyzed the actual operation status, exist problems and the research both at home and abroad;(2) The related data of design the FBD series of local fan were collected and analyzed, the virtual prototype information model was built, geometric model and motion simulation analysis were carried out by using Pro / E software for the purpose of determining the reasonable structure of the local fan, the interference situation and the movement of rationality between the key components were analyzed;(3) The numerical simulation for the airflow between the impeller of the FBD series of local fan was adopted by using ANSYS FLOTRAN software, the velocity and pressure distribution between the impeller was obtained, the aerodynamic loads on the second impeller were calculated, which can provide accurate data for the structural analysis;(4) To the blade fracture issues during the use of the FBD series of local fan for mine, the stress and strain distribution and the influence of aerodynamic loads was obtained by structure static analysis using the ANSYS software, the structural strength and stiffness of wheel hub was calculated and also the safety was analyzed. From which the structure of wheel hub was improved, the improved results not only can meet the requirement of the stiffness and intensity, but also can reduce the mass of wheel hub, and at the same time the maximum stress was decreased;(5) For the sake of solving the problem of vibration and noises during the work of the FBD series of local fan for mine, first of all, structure and dynamics modal analysis were carried out, the results show the effect of the pre-stressed on vibration characteristics, the blade's and wheel hub's former six frequencies and mode shapes, which can provided evidence for researching on the vibration and noises of the local fan; Then, the pre-stressed modal analysis considering the aerodynamic loading was carried out, the former twelve frequencies and mode shapes were extracted. The results show the influence on whole impeller brought by blade's vibration characteristics, the wheel hub's vibration characteristics and the vibration coupling between blade and wheel hub.
