Roadway is a main part in underground mining. The generation, development and collapse of roadway separation is an important reason for roadway instability. Roof separation is the external manifestations of several factors, such as:the ground stress, rock mechanical properties, rock structure, roadway reinforcement anchor parameters and roadway section and so on.. Therefore, the roof separation value is a composite indicator prediction of the roadway stability.In this paper based on actual site of Xingcun Mine and using numerical code FLAC3D, firstly, the influence of excavation on the development of roadway roof separation of different top coal thickness was studied, the law of development of roadway roof separation under static excavation and dynamic excavation was contrasted and analyzed, and the influence of dynamic load on the roadway roof stability was studied. Then the control effect of roadway roof separation by step excavating, prestressed anchor bars supporting and full-length anchoring bolting, and drilling pressure relief borehole were studied. The maximum axial force of prestressed anchor and full-length anchoring bolt was contrasted and analyzed. Finally, the development of roof joints was observed on the spot, the reliability of simulation results was validated.
