The paper, based on the analysis of special geological conditions of thin coal seam, as well as summing up successful experience in technology test of the small pillar support for roadways along goaf in the actual mine, systematically studied the problem on the small pillar support for roadway along goaf under the conditions of thin coal seam and solved the technical problems along the small pillar support along goaf in thin coal seam, with on-site practice and measurement, numerical analysis and theoretical studies of an integrated approach. So that the rationalization of small pillar width along goaf is realized, the problem of the roadway support along goaf solved and the recovery rate of coal resources improved, fundamentally improving the mine production safety situation and the actual economic benefits.Bolt support in seam roadway can significantly improve the roadway support effect, increasing safety and reducing the amount of roadway maintenance, which is the trend of roadway support technology development, with the dual advantages of technology and economic. In this paper, up to the actual geological and technical conditions of Jinda Colliery, the roadway design of bolting was carried out based on theoretical calculations and numerical simulations, and bolting roadway deformation and bolt force were actually measured with rationality of roadway supporting design and the validity of supporting results examined. Thereby, amendments of the bolting parameters are timely made, ensuring the stability of the roadway surrounding rock and production safety.Through systematic research and analysis, the reasonable size (4m) of small pillar is finally determined in Jinda Colliery, and set a reasonable roadway bolting parameters, which does not only ensured the safe production of face and the stability of surrounding rock has been well controlled, but also improved the recovery rate of coal seam with the important and practical economic significance, for thin coal seam.
