Energy supply and environmental pollution has become the two big bottlenecks in the society development today. With the obvious technical advantages and huge development potential, GDI has gained abundant research achievements since the 1990s, which is regarded as a new way to low fuel consumption and low emission.The article studied on the air-assisted gasoline direct injection technology. The ejected matter is not the gasoline but the mixture of air and gasoline, so that the fuel consumption and emission can be improved. The air-assisted GDI is a new exploration of GDI technology.This article mainly carried out the following research:The research is based on the GDI system combining with other fuel supply systems. The fuel injection process, the formation of the gas mixture and the design of the air-assisted nozzle and the hydraulic control system on the nozzle are included. The air-assisted nozzle is remolded from the diesel engine nozzle, in which an active nozzle supercharger and an fuel mixture volume are installed. Meanwhile a fuel supply system and a compressed air supply system suitable to the nozzle are invented.The article also designed an electronic control system based on Infineon's high performance 8-bit chip XC888CLM.Finally, the air-assisted GDI system passed the bench test. The conclusion is that the system worked well in idle speed and small load conditions, so the expectation is achieved.
