In recent years, metal-organic complexes have captured more and more intensive attention not only because of their versatile structural motifs and topologies, but also due to their potential applications in gas storage, separation, catalysis, optics, magnetism, and so on. Therefore, it is of great importance for the development of coordination chemistry to explore the assembly of functional organic ligands with metal ion and to investigate the relationship between the structure and property. In this paper, six new compounds, with formula (1) {[Zn4(Hbbim)4(bbim)2]·H2O·C2H5OH}n,(2)[Cd2(Hbbim)2(bbim)]n, (3) [Zn(bbim)](H2bbim)99, (4) [Cd(H2bbim)2(H2O)2[CH3COO]2, (5) [C19Hi3N5]·0.25H2O, (6) [Zn(C19H12N5)2(H2O)2]·5H2O, have been solvothermally synthesized and characterized by IR, elemental analysis, TG,solid-state emission spectra and single crystal X-ray diffraction analysis. Both of compound 1 and 2 have a two-dimensional honeycomb network structure. Compound 3 contains 99% H2bbim and 1%[Zn(bbim)]n. Compound 4 and compound 6 are zero-dimensional metal-organic complexes. Compound 5 consists of organic ligands and crystallization water molecules. Compound 1,2 and 3 are stable below 460℃,475℃and 365℃, respectively. Solid state luminescent spectroscopies of compound 1,2,3 and 6 exhibit an emission peak at 408nm,407nm,406nm and 526nm, respectively.
