Due to its good characteristics such as wash and wear, iron free, low shrinkage rate and good dimensional and weathering stability, nylon had been one of the most commonly used polymers. However, after acidic dying process, because there is few terminal amino group on the nylon molecular chain, the acidic dyes connect with fabric through Molecular Forces and Hydrogen Bond, which results in the problems of poor fastness etc.The acid dyed nylon fabrics are used for color-fixing processing by anionic fixing agents, which can be divided into two categories:one is multivariate phenolic formaldehyde condensation of fixing agent, whose solution is alkaline (pH value of 8-8.5, in 1% solution); the other one is phenol formaldehyde condensation of fixing agent, whose solution is acidic (pH value of 1.5-3, in 1% solution). The paper selects Nylofixan PBS liq and DM-2530 as representation, respectively. However, for the same kind of dyes and the same kind of fixing agent conditions may appear different result in different factory production, some color-fixing effect is very good, some effect in general. This is mainly because the fixing process varies in each factory, but so far little research has been done in this aspect. The research was conducted to color fix the dyed nylon samples by the two fixing agents mentioned above. Through analyzing the color fastness to washing, to acid/basic perspiration and to sea water, the effect of variables, such as pH value, temperature, fixing time, dosage etc, to the color-fixing results was studied. It is concluded that the influence of two kinds of fixing agent handling the optimal process:the optimal process of phenol formaldehyde condensation of fixing agent is:DM-2530 3%(o. w. f), pH=4, treated at 70℃for 20min; the optimal process of multiple phenolic formaldehyde condensation of fixing agent is: Nylofixan PBS liq 4%(o. w. f), pH=4, treated at 80℃for 3min.Clothing comfort has received an increasing concern as the rising of clothing demand level. Because there are several problems in nylon fabrics, such as poor hygroscopicity, rough feelings etc, using fabric finishing technology to endure nylon fabric with moisture absorption and sweat soft effect has become a necessity. Nevertheless, after finishing agent handling the nylon fabric, the color fixing effect may lead to some certain effects. Consequently, this paper used the DM-3740 hygroscopic wicking agent, DM-3741 special soft hygroscopic wicking agent, and Silyouwet T6160 organic silicon softener respectively to handle the color-fixed nylon fabric with the two kinds of fixing agent at the best possible conditions. The effects such as the capillary effect, bibulous rate, water droplets spread time, evaporation rate, soft performance, and washability were studied. Through the analysis of influence of finishing additives on color fastness of color-fixing nylon fabric, the characteristics of generalities between fixing agents and finishing auxiliaries were studied. The results showed that:hygroscopic wicking agent DM-3740 can greatly improve the fabric moisture absorption and discharge, but it will affect the color fastness a lot, which decline about half to one grade; hygroscopic wicking agent DM-3741 can greatly improve the fabric moisture absorption and discharge too, and it will also affect the color fastness, which is minor than DM-3740; Silyouwet T6160 softener can increase the handing level of fabric, and fastness influence is relatively minor.
