From the studies the properties of nano-calcium carbonate, talc, heavy calcium carbonate and light calcium carbonate filled polymer composites,It can be concluded that nano-calcium carbonate is the most effective filler, mainly on impact toughness and lightweight. With the addition of inorganic fillers , the polymeric materials are saved and the cost is decreased to manufacturer. The polymer/talc composite materials had been strengthened, because of its lamellar structure. In addition, the color of polymer/talc composite materials were dull,and not like the polymer/CaCo3,and the polmer/talc ,the producte were of certain transparenty.Studies on PVC/ CaCo3 composites and coatings showed that nano calcium carbonate should be surface modifid by different ways to play its functional roles. PVC composites used oil-soluble CaCo3 can improve the mechanical properties of PVC. The impact toughness, heat resistance and dimensional stability of the materials were all improved. hydrophilic nano calcium carbonated can owe the coatings good property (gloss enhanced, fine and elastic) and stable storage state . The trials on agriculture film filled with nano calcium carbonate or talc as dilute showed the dripping time is almost similar. The fogging of nano calcium carbonate filled films is lower than that of talc filled films,and the mechanical performance is better than talc filled films especially on the tensile strength and angle tearing strength.
