The dynamic characteristic of horizontal roadheader cutting head is studied by using mechanical system dynamic simulation software ADAMS. On the platform of Pro/E, secondary development package provided by Pro/Toolkit is used on accessing and calling the model's data, through accessing the model's parameters by the dialogue Box developed by VC6.0, then, parametric design of parts and components is completed. Model is imported into ADAMS by the Mechanism / Pro interface. Add the drive, load, define material properties, completing the virtual prototype model of kinematics and dynamics simulation of pre-processing stage.Then longitudinal roadheader cutting head for dynamic analysis and modal analysis,the final analysis of the results in the PostProcessing.Modal coordinate various stages of drawing maps, two-dimensional and three-dimensional frequency.Obtained and analyzed horizontal roadheader cutting head entity model in working condition without cutting head by the force versus time curve and vibration characteristic curve,the results of its analysis to improve the design of cutting head, providing a basis for the perfect cutting performance of tunneling machines .
