Polymer processing has always been a high-energy consuming processing, in which screw machines are widely used, such as screw extruding machine and screw injection machine, however, defects as long thermo-mechanic process, high-energy consuming, huge device size and highly dependence on properties of material, have been commonly existed in such kind of mechanical structures. Qu Jinping , Professor of Key Laboratory of Polymer Processing Engineering of Ministry of Education, South China University of Technology, has developed a new invention-----Polymer plasticizing conveying methods and devices that based on extensional rheology, which has solved one problem: Plasticizing capacity mainly count on friction between polymer material and surface of metal cylinder, and internal friction of polymer materials; in addition, during processing, it changes shear flow field of polymer melt into extentional flow field. Compared with regular screw extruding machine, it has several characteristics. Such as short thermo-mechanic process, low energy consuming, high efficiency, broadly material compatibility and small size. For these reasons, it has very important scientific and real meanings to deeply research this new plasticizing conveying device.Using vane injection machine to moulding products of PP/ vollastonite composite, this thesis discuss relationships between technology characteristics of vane injection machine and length to diameter ratio of vollastonite, microstructure and mechanic properties of PP/vollastonite composite. including(1)The relationships between plasticizing temperature, rotate speed, vollastionite contents and Vollastionite length to diameter.(2) The relationships between plasticizing temperature, rotate speed, vollastionite contents and microstructure of PP/ vollastonite composite. (3) The relationships between d plasticizing temperature, rotate speed, vollastionite contents and mechanic properties of PP/vollastonite composite.The results indicated that, 1. Length to diameter ratio of vollastonite could be well protected by raising plasticizing temperature, lowing rotate speed. The structure of vollastonite were severe damage when vollastonite in high contents. (2) The dispersion and mixing effects of vollastonite in PP matrix can be reinforced by vane injection machine. less glomeration of vollastonite granules were appeared.(3)interfacial properties of PP/ vollastonite can be improved by vane injection machine. The interfacial adhesion was raised. (4) Length to diameter ratio of vollastonite could be well protected when liquid paraffin has been added. And the structure of composite. can be more the mechanical properties of composite can be raised when the vollastonite content is relatively high.
