Study On Flotation Mechanism Of Calcite And Apatite

Apatite is the main mineral materials of the phosphate fertilizer industry and phosphorous chemicaL.It has various of tepes, different forming process, crystalline form and chemical composition have a lot of difference, so the flotability is differ. In flotation of apatite, the calcite and apatite have the similar flotability because of they contain the same activity particles Ca2+, flotation separation is difficult, so do some basic research on the flotation characteristics of apatite and calcite is necessary.There are certain differences on the surface properties of single particle of different minerals; it is the key factor of influence on elixir effects, and the root cause of the flotability differences between different minerals. This paper begin as the crystal structure of pure minerals of apatite and calcite, calculated the density of activity particles Ca2+ on surface of apatite and calcite, experimented the flotation characteristics of calcite and apatite by stearamine and oleic acid, discussed the mechanism and adsorption type of these two collectors. Through the experiment verified density of Ca2+ on these two mineral surfaces decided its flotability.My paper attempted the vacuum flotation in apatite and calcite flotation separation, chemical vacuum flotation in apatite and calcite has better selectivity than the dissolved vapor vacuum flotation. The calcite surface can dissolve out CO2 film layer in acidic conditions, it can become the crystal nucleus, then grows into microbubble by reducing pressure, these bubbles can be attached to the surface of calcite, makes calcite particles has better flotability. It can eliminate the hydrated shell on the calcite surface when the CO2 film layer dissolved out, makes calcite impact by reagent more easily. It is also an important factor that calcite showes better flotability. That phenomenon has greater significance in apatite of re verse-flotation.In the experiment several of common inhibitors have used for restraining apatite and calcite, which finds a way and conditions that change and expand the flotability of these two minerals and rea lice s the separation of two minerals in binary systems of the separation test.
