In this study, the water quality of 3 periods (high water season, mean water season, dry season) in Jinpai village section and Langli section of Liuyang River in Changsha county from the year 2008 to 2009 were monitored, and the water pollution saituation was grasped timely and effectively. It uses single factor index method and fuzzy comprehensive evaluation to access the water quality allording to the testing results, and the origin of water pollution was analysised. Water pollution preventions that based on guiding principle and policy and guiding principle and policy and environmental protection consciousness were dissudded.The main contents of the study as following.(1) Chemical oxygen demand, biochemical oxy demand,fecal coliforrn and petroleum were the main water pollutants of Liuyang River in Changsha county, the content of total phosphorus, NH4-N,plumbum and sulfide of water were over standard limit sometimes. Almost all of the water pollutants were came from domestic wastewater, industrial wastewater and non-point source pollution planting and breeding industry. The result of water monitoring of Jinpai village section and Langli section showed that the worst water quality were both present to high water season.(2) Water quality evaluation with factor index method showed that there was long-range serious organic pollution in the water of Liuyang River in Changsha county, and the inorganic pollutions such as As, Pb,NH4-N,P were indispensable.(3) Water quality evaluation with fuzzy comprehensive method showed that the water quality of Jinpai village section in erery seasons belong toâ…¢class,except in high season which lower thanâ…¢class standard. The worst water quality in high water reasons in Langli section that from 2008 to 2009 that were belong toâ…¤class. Water quality of Langli section in mean water reason, dry reason and annual average were belong toâ…¢class in 2008, while mean water reason and annual average were fit theâ…¢class in 2009, all fo that were lower than standard by theâ…¡class.(4) Compared to single factor index method, the evaluation result of fuzzy comprehensive evaluation method can reflect the comprehensive influence of pollution factors on water quality more comprehensively and more truly and more accurately. And chooseing different evaluation factors can affect water quality evaluation result in varying degrees.(5) The water quality of Liuyang River in Changsha county could been improved through these pathways such as perfecting the mechanism of water environment protection and governance, speed up the economic growth mode transformation, adjusting industrial structure, increasing financial investment, strengthen basic construction of waste treatment, raising consciousness of protecting water environment and so on.
