As an significant part of the fashion design, children wear is drew people's attention as much as possible. The study of elementary schools'children wear is in the primary process. Up to now, there is not have any research which focus on girl's wear from the age 7 to 12, especially for weft-knitted fabric and casual wear in our country. The thesis is based on the study of weft-knitted fabrics, casual trends and children's wear design, combing the macroscopical and microcosmic elements, then it takes the further study. I hope it could apply some suggestions for design in the fashion company.Through applying the analyzing, comparing and conclude methods, with the guide of fashion marketing the thesis commences the study. The thesis consists some parts as follows.Firstly, from the macroscopical part, I analyzed the data of the developing of economy in our country, the instance about fashion industry, the average income of people and so on. During the analyzing process, the population is increased year by year in the city. While in the result of population age investigation,18.57% of the whole population in our country is the child at the age from 0 to 14. This proves that the girl's wear in our country possesses huge potential.Secondly, from the microcosmic point, I make the marketing research on the current children wear industry and the distribution of children wear brand in Shang Hai. Simultaneously, I study the Qing Qing Guo, which is the most popular brand in Shang Hai. Furthermore, I make the questionnaire for girls and the parents. Then, under the software of SPSS and Microsoft Office Excel, I get the results as follows.1. The Questionnaire For ParentsWhen the parents buy clothes for their children, the majority of the parents would choose the answer that is buying clothes from the selling spot. From this point, the displaying, propagandizing and promoting would take effect for the sale immediately. In the time of purchasing aspect, it is mostly concentrating on Children's Day, Birthday and Spring Festival. The Children's Day and Spring Festival is more predictable than the Birthday. In the decision of purchasing aspect, from the result of research analyzing, we could see that 40%parents would think about the children's suggestion,16% parents would allow the daughter to choose the clothes as they prefer. So, the children's fancy is more important in the purchasing course. Before doing the fashion design for girl's, we should study their life styles, wearing psychology, physiological and psychological characters.In the design elements, more than half of the consumers think the suitable and fabric are most importance, more than 50% of the parents figure that the price, pattern, color and style are important.53.2% of the parents feel whether the brand is famous or not is just so so. From this aspect, we could have a conclusion that the fabric, style, color, pattern and price are more important.In the particular side of design element, the parents' opinion is more concentrate. Most of the people prefer the letter, strips, cartoon pattern, next is plants and animal patterns. In detail design, the majority of the people paid attention to the collars, sleeves design. They also care bottom of the trousers, the pocket and front. In color design, the mass of the people would like to choose white and pink. Some clothes with light colors would be supported by consumers. The price mainly in middle. In material side,98.4% of the consumer would like the material that contains cotton fibre, as it has good absorption and ventilating.2. The Questionnaire For Girls (from 7 to 12)Most of girls like the cartoon and letter. They also prefer the smooth and lovely figures such as ellipse and round. At the same time, they are favor for the light color. In the decision of the purchasing, most of them choose the parents who make the final decision.Thirdly, from the theory, I take the study for girl's physiological and psychological characters, their life style and wearing psychology. During the course, I find their favorite.Fourthly, on the basis of fashion design element study, I operate an project, which is combining the marketing research, children's characters. The project concludes three topics. Each topics is composed by moodboard, colorboard, fashion drawing, technique drawing and material explanation. The first topic is expressing the soft colors and cartoon patterns. Because children just finish the kindergarten at the age 7 to 8. The second topic is more colorful. It is composing by red, yellow, blue, green, orange, brown and so on. They occure with the geometrical shapes. The third topic is expressed with black and white. I use some abstract letter patterns, which would help to improve the abstract ideation.The main innovate points in the thesis are as follows.First, there is not any study in this area. It just focuses on the girl's casual wear design, especially form 7 to 12. This thesis makes complement for the field.Secondly, the thesis is study the children's wearing mentals with the psychology theory.Thirdly, through analyzing the children wear in home and abroad, it figures the developing of girl's wear design character and the trend of children wear design. It would apply the suggestions for children wear brand in our country.Although the thesis is just study some fields, it would not be limited in the study of some cases, the way to research and the idea could be use widely.
