With the rapid development of mould industry, CAD technology for Mould has become an important way to improve the quality and design efficiency of mould. Some foreign large-scale CAD system(Pro/ENGINEER,UG etc.) has been widely used more and more in our country's mould industry. However, those business softwares pay more attention to versatility instead of pertinence. Meanwhile, If we designed or drawn some serried standard part manually, It may lead to a lot of repeated labor or Human error. The standard parts library of those CAD systems coincide with foreign standards which are different from our standards and design idioms. This may be one important factor limited the development of mould industry in our country. Therefore, establishing our standard part libraries by redevelopment based on general CAD system is not only an inevitable choice to raise working efficiency and shorten the development cycle but also a future development direction of CAD system for mould.In this paper, two kinds of standard parts libraries for Pro/E system were built by family table and Pro/TOOLKIT according to the existing standards. Mould base was serialized by using layout file. It is an effective means of mould base designing. The main work of the thesis are as following: 1) The 2006 edition national standard parts libraries for injection mould base were built by using family table method.2) A set of ACCESS database for standard parts libraries of mould were established by using Pro/TOOLKIT tool, DLL pattern and MFC method.3) The connection and management between dialogs and ACCESS were realized with the technology of ODBC by operating the MFC classes (CDatabase,CRecordset,CRecordView etc).4) The "A15×" layout file was created by calling standard parts. With the Parameters transfer function of layout, the automation assembly and seriation of mould base were achieved.The standard parts libraries which were built by family table and Pro/TOOLKIT in this thesis can be called conveniently. This is a great way to bring into play parametric modeling of Pro/E. Meanwhile, the way to establish Standard Mould Base Library based on layout files is introduced. It is undoubtedly one convenient and practical solution for injection mould base design in small and medium-size companies.
