With the development of CAD, the application of CAD/CAM into mould production has become an effective approach to guarantee designing and processing quality of punching die and improve efficiency. Now foreign mould industry has greatly shortened the mould of making period, heightened the mould of technical content and reduced the cost by making use of CAD/CAM technical and numerical control tool. To the contrary, mould industry in our country has lagged behind,especially in the state-owned enterprises.China's ability to compete with international mould industry is weak.This paper, which combines technology of mould CAD and lots of mould design experience, seek a mould design system fitting corporation. This paper establish basic frame of developing standard parts library, which helps finishing the design of cold-punched mould better. The main study is finished as follows:Windows XP Professional is used as the operating system, the parts family is created using the strong parametric shaping technology of CAD/CAM/CAE soft Unigraphics NX developed by EDS company.The user menu is made by UG/Open MenuScript tool, the user dialog box is designed by UG/Open UIStyler tool. The three-dimension parametric mould standard parts library is developed by the method of worksheet, making use of interior developing language provided by second developing moudle UG/OPEN API and Visual C++6.0 high level language.The parametric and feature modeling basic theories, the correlation technique of UG second development and the method of creating standard parts library based on UG are studied deeply. The complete actualization process is obtained by practising the user interface and application program design again and again and studying the second development method of UG in detail.The assembling of cold-punched mould is finished by the bottom-up design method based on the cold-punched mould standard parts library and cold-punched mould common moulds library created using the above methods.The shaping process becomes easy and convenient using the UG WAVE technique during the process of designing mould parts. Finally, the whole process of mould design is explained and it is validated that using the cold-punched mould standard parts library and cold-punched mould shaping design system is very important to improve the mould design efficiency and strengthen the mould design standard degree via an example of one pie desien of a car part.
