Gas extraction which takes the construction seam borehole for premise is one of the effective means in the prevention and treatment of gas disasters. In borehole construction process, there are lots of coal dust producing, coal dust affect not only working environment, workers' health, but excessive concentrations of coal dust is apt to cause the coal dust explosion. The effective method of reducing coal dust concentration in borehole process is to install dust removal device near orifice.The structure characteristics and the dust removal efficiency of the dust removal device direct feflect the dedusting effect, and the problems of common dust removal devices were largely reflected in many spects, such as complex structure, maintenance difficulties, large water consumption, low dust removal efficiency and other shortcomings. This paper puts forward a new program of dust removal device, on this basis, this paper introduces the development process of the gravity settling chamber and the dusting bucket. At the same time, the fluid of the gravity settling chamber and the dusting bucket have been simulated, and then, the structure of gravity settling chamber and the hollow plastic ball height of dusting bucket have been optimized with the result of simulation. Moreover, influence parameters of dusting bucket have been selected reasonably through laboratory experiment. According to the results of the study, new dust removal device that compare with ore dust removal device have been fabricated for industrial experiment. Industrial experiment results show that the new dust removal device is superior to the ore dust removal device side, the dust concentration is close to dust concentration of the roadway after using the new dust removal device, the average dust removal efficiency is 99%, effectively inhibit the borehole coal dust spreading to coal roadway, and the feasibility and practicability of the dust removal device have been proved.
