The aim of this thesis is to synthesize novel coordination polymers on the basis of amino acid ligands, tart ligands and also its ramification (potassium antimony tartrate), to study the synthetic conditions and rules for these compounds, analysis influence of amino acid ligands and tart ligands on the formation of chiral structure, and to explore the relationships between structures and properties for these new compounds.A series of new chiral coordination compounds have been synthesized on the basis of hydrothermal and ambient conditions, structurally characterized by elemental analyses, IR, EPR, XRPD, TG and single crystal X-ray diffractions. The thermal stabilities, magnetic properties and fluorescent activity of these compounds have been studied.1. Four new homchiral metal-organic frameworks have been hydrothermally synthesized on the basis of chiral amino acid ligands connected by V-shaped carboxylate ligands and metal ions.[Co2(sdba)(L-Trp)2] (1)[Co2(sdba)(L-Trp)2] (2)[Zn4(btc)2(Hbtc)(L-His)2(H2O)4]·1.5H2O (3)[Zn4(btc)2(Hbtc)(L-His)2(H2O)4]·1.5H2O (4)(Trp=tryptophan, His=histidine, sdba=4,4'-sulfonyldibenzoate, btc= 1,3,5-benzenetricarboxylate). They are two pair of enantiopure, otherwise, left-handed helical structure is constructed by L-amino acid ligands while right-handed helical structure is constructed by D-amino acid ligands, which indicate that there are chiral recognition between the amino acid and the helix. Meanwhile, it also indicates that the chirality of amino acid can be transfered from metal centers to the helical chains and then to the whole framework. This is the new example of chiral inducement and transfer. The successful isolation of these four compounds provides structural information that will aid in constructing novel homochiral frameworks.2. Eleven new metal-organic frameworks have been synthesized under hydrothermal and ambient conditions on the basis of chiral tartaric acid ligands and its ramification (potassium antimony tartrate) connected by rare-earth and alkaline-earth metal ions.At the beginning of our experiment, we successfully synthesized one novel homochiral framework on the basis of chiral tartaric acid ligands and alkaline-earth metal ions.[Ba(L-tart)] (5)Afterwards, we introduced presynthesized [Sb2(tart)2]2- metalloligand acts as the molecular building block (MBB) to successfully synthesized ten novel frameworks.{[La(H2O)6][Sb2(tart)2]}Cl·5H2O (6){[Pr(H2O)6][Sb2(tart)2]}Cl·5H2O (7){[Ba2(H2O)7][Sb2(tart)2]2}·4H2O (8){[Sr2(H2O)9][Sb2(tart)2]}·5H2O (9){Ce(H2O)5(NO3)[Sb2(D-tart)2]}·H2O (10){Pr(H2O)5(NO3)[Sb2(L-tart)2]}·H2O (11){Nd(H2O)5(NO3)[Sb2(L-tart)2]}·H2O (12){Sm(H2O)5(NO3)[Sb2(L-tart)2]}·H2O (13){Eu(H2O)5(NO3)[Sb2(D-tart)2]}·H2O (14){Dy(H2O)5(NO3)[Sb2(L-tart)2]}·H2O (15)(tart=tartaric acid). Compounds (6), (7), (8) consist of two kinds of chiral layers, which alternately stack in a heterochiral fashion to yield racemic 3D supramolecular structure, Compound (9) is a 1D helical achiral framework, Compounds (10), (11), (12), (13), (14), (15) are homochiral compounds which were obtained by spontaneous resolution. The chirality of [Sb2(tart)2]2-(MLs) can be transfered from metal centers to the helical chains and then to the whole framework.
