| China's economic development has made great development, but also paying a heavy environmental costs, such as excessive consumption of raw material resources. Environmental protection is not only of China's sustainable economic development, but also an impact on the overall situation of China's social stability and harmony as people's increasingly high demand for environmental quality.There are a variety of reasons for environmental pollution. Different scholars study this issue from different perspectives. But China is in its urbanization and industrialization stage, we should study the impact of environmental factors in this context.Based on the environmental economic theory and review of the relevant theory about environmental pollution in the stage of urbanization and industrialization, we sort out the status of research in the field and determine the relationship between the rate of urbanization, industrial growth, investment in environmental protection and environmental pollution. Based on the IPAT model theory and its factorization, we explore the influence factors under China's urbanization and industrialization stage.In the view of the characters reflected in China's current urbanization and industrialization stage, this article makes some amendments of IPAT model by introducing the effect of urbanization and industrialization to study the factors affecting environmental pollution in the current development stage, and therefore has practical policy implications. The long-term equilibrium relationship between environmental pollution and explanatory variables is studied by the method of cointegration. We provide a explanation and forecast of China's environmental pollution.For china, the more realistic and feasible means to reduce environmental pollution are controlling pace of urbanization and industrialization process by improving industrial structure and increasing investment in environmental protection.
