.1995-2008 In Inner Mongolia And Shanxi Environmental Kuznets Curve Comparative Study

EKC curve shows that with the development of the economy, the quality of the environment becomes worse at first and after then turns to be better, so the relationship between the development of the economy and the quality of the environment is just like the shape of reverse U.Inner Mongolia and Shanxi province are the same as they are both rich in mineral resources, they keep fast and steady economic growth depend on plenty of mineral resource between 1995-2008, the original economy lever of Inner Mongolia is behind of Shanxi province, but it grows more fast than Shanxi recent years. With the continuously growing GDP, the environmental pollution is becoming more and more seriously in Shanxi and Inner Mongolia. Shanxi province has already focused on the protection of environment, what shall Inner Mongolia do next?The first chapter of this paper——Introduction collecting per GDP of Shanxi and Inner Mongolia between 1995-2008 as the index of development of economy and industrial emission of SO2,smoke,dust,waste gas,waste water and garbage as the index of the quality of environment. The second chapter of this paper——EKC theory introduce the origin and the content of EKC. The third chapter of this paper——Demonstration analysis use SPSS make regression analysis, getting EKC of Shanxi and Inner Mongolia, and compare the EKC of Inner Mongolia with Shanxi. The fourth chapter of this paper——Conclusion and Suggestion discuss the significance of comparison between Inner Mongolia and Shanxi, then compare the 1995-2008 EKC of Inner Mongolia with Shanxi according to the result of regression analysis, find the difference between them. Finally, provide suggestion on how Inner Mongolia to find a harmonious way between development of economy and protection of environment referring to the experience of Shanxi province.
