| Nowadays, Environmental issues have become one of the bottlenecks that limit the development of cities. The construction of new ecological city has become the only way for the sustainable and healthy development of city. As a pilot zone for overall reform of national resource-saving and environment-friendly society ("two-oriented society") construction, the construction of new ecological urban area of Wuhan city circle plays an important role in the construction of the two-oriented society. Ecological urban area construction is an important component of ecological city construction. Qiaokou district is located in the downtown of Wuhan city, which is the birthplace of modern industry and commerce of Wuhan. How to build the ecological Qiaokou district becomes an urgent problem. Based on this, the construction and management of ecological Qiaokou district was studied by elementary analysis. The concept of ecological urban area, research status home and abroad were firstly introduced, and then the current situation and existing problems of ecological environment in Qiaokou district were analyzed. Finally on the basis of research, policies and measures during the next National Twelfth Five-Year Plan period such as to further strengthen the concept of circular economy, to increase the momentum of industrial reconstructuring, to promote clean production with all efforts, to strengthen comprehensive control of environment and so on were proposed in order to promote the construction of ecological Qiaokou district.
