The part what we study in this paper is a key part in car, The materials is 2A12 aluminum alloy. The shape is complexity with high intensity. But the current production craft is to use mechanical processing method. The Production efficiency is so low, material utilization and strength is also low,it can hardly meet the demand of the customers in emergency situations. This paper,we studied the plastic forming of aluminum ally part, adopt Isothermal extrusion technology. The workpiece we producted have good organization performance, high size precision. This process have high production efficiency, material utilization also higher, It is a kind of advanced manufacturing technology.According to the characteristics of the part, formulated preliminary scheme. We set up a model of the process scheme worked.and applied deform software to FEM numerical simulation.We modified the original extrusion process parameters and methods. We have optimized the size of the mold structure. Analyzed the influence regularity of 2A12 aluminum alloy base preforming and flow velocity field during extrusion on Folding step edge position. Simulated the male mould and concave mold on the equivalent strain and equivalent stress distribution.we obtained better deformation parameters through the simulation. Also predicted the folding defects which may occur during the deformation.On the basis of the above,we designed the die and Verified it. The results show that the structure of die we designed, the forming process and the process parameter were reasonable, Metal flows evenly, Filling effect, high precision of extruded products, good finish, to achieve the desired results.
