A certain shaped box of special vehicles was made by using casting and machining manufacturing. The box parts molten exist unavoidable casting defects, which directly affect the vehicle performance; Steel box parts machined can meet the necessary performance, but material utilization and production efficiency is low, and do not meet the weight requirements. This paper focus on the problem during box of special vehicles process, and develop research in process of aluminum alloy box.Follow the request of box mechanics and application environment, chosen 7A04 aluminum alloy to produce box. Discuss the parameters of 7A04 extrusion forming process and heat treatment criterion of 7A04 aluminum alloy. The box in this paper is a typical special-shaped part. Combine with the box figure and 7A04 aluminum alloy forming process characteristics, drawing of the aluminum alloy box was be designed and forming technology of aluminum alloy box was be developed.The process of aluminum box was simulated. on base of numerical simulation during extrusion forming phase, We analyzed influence of metal flow and forming force under different friction coefficient, extrusion speed and die structure. At last, we make sure the important process parameter, also improved the process of forming and mold structure.The process parameter of aluminum alloy box and box mold design were reasonable as been show in result of the experiment. The tensile strength of 7A04 aluminum alloy box attain 610~615Mpa and the yield strength attain 550~560MPa, both of performance Satisfy the special vehicle's mechanical properties. Comparing with cast steel wheel box, aluminum alloy box reduce weight reduction was greater. The performance of aluminum box attain the goal what we want, and competent in real life.
