The study gives us a general picture of the nation's power industry in 2009 and its air pollution control of coal-fired power plants. In addition, the document analyses the government's response to climate change, sums up the pros and cons of the modeling method and introduces the basic structure and theory of TIMES model based on the building of the green-house gas (GHG) emission-reduction analysis model of the power industry. In short, it might serve as a reference for the institutions and researchers engaging on the study of GHG emission in the power industry. The study gives out an overview of the nation's power industry in 2009 and the air pollution control of coal-fired power plants and also mentions the related laws and politics thereof. The next part mainly analyzed and introduces the current global trend for addressing climate change and the models for analysis on greenhouse gas emission reduction. Summarizing the results of observations on global climate change, it analyzes the influence of climate change on human society from such four aspects like ecological safety, food safety, water resources, and human health.Meanwhile, this part introduces the progress of international community in addressing climate change as well as the present situation of climate change in China and the actions taken to address it.Moreover, after the introduction of the models for analysis on GHG emission reduction in power industry as an example, illustrates the basic structure and theory of the TIMES model and set the scenarios for analyzing greenhouse emission reduction of power industry in the future.
