Graphene is an allotrope of carbon, whose structure is one-atom-thick planar sheets of sp2-bonded carbon atoms that are densely packed in a crystal lattice honeycomb. It's the thinnest nano-material with most stiffness. And it's almost fully transparent due to its low light absorptivity, only 2.3%. The near room temperature thermal conductivity of graphene was recently measured to be 5300 W/mk in excess of those measured for carbon nanotubes or diamond. Graphene has remarkably high electron mobility at room temperature, with reported values in excess of 15,000 cm2 V-1 s-1, also better than carbon nanotubes and diamond. Graphene's high electrical conductivity and high optical transparency make it a candidate for transparent conducting electrodes. This article summarizes graphene preparing methods and characterizes methods. And then do some research on graphene transparent conducting electrodes. Due to the similarity of graphene and carbon nanotubes, the field emission effect and conductivity of graphene films made by two different methods was compared. The result shows that graphene has great perspective in field emission device. The experiment also reveal that graphene sheet with large area fabricated at optimized condition will form sharp unit which is beneficial for enforcing the local electric field and reaching better field emission performance.
