Simulating fire was mainly used to forecast the fire parameter model and inspect the fire equipments. The former researches of simulating fire mainly focus on wood crib fire and pool fire. Based on the former research, according to the characteristics of modern fire and fire research trends, three types of solid, liquid, gas simulating fire was selected and designed. Through the full scale fire experiment, the fire characteristic parameters of solid simulating fire, such as fire loads, heat release rate, flame height, radiation heat flux, and flame temperature, were comprehended and quantitative reference was provided for related research. Based on mastering the characteristic parameters of liquid simulating fire, some empirical formulas of fire load, heat release rate and pulse frequency were summarized, and some basic data was provided for the later research of combustion characteristics in furnishing fire. According to research of gas simulating fire, the characteristics with high repeatability, stability and Controllability.were found in the gas simulating fire.Based on the research of the liquid simulating fire, the characteristic parameters of sofa, Lower Cabinet, cupboard, tea table and bookcase were contrasted. With the liquid simulating fire, and through analyzing of the characteristic parameters, found that characteristic parameters of fire loads, heat release rate, flame height and radiation heat flux can be used for the research of replacing the furnishing fire with liquid simulating fire. While the flame temperature and the pulse frequency were not suitable.Application the two different methods of thermo-gravimetric and oxygen consumption, research the corrugated cardboard, polystyrene, pine, cotton fabric and polyurethane sponge, through comparative analyzing experimental data, a forecast model of heat release rate was summarized in theory. Using the model, the heat release rate of full scale experiment can be predicted by using the mass loss rate measured in thermo-gravimetric experiment.
