In this paper, the electromagnetic radiation of weld seam's substrate of can-body drying line is represented to carry out shielding research of can-body resistance welding production line. Electromagnetic radiation is a phenomenon which can't be ignored of cans-body resistance welding production line. As medium frequency induction heating in the weld seam's substrate of can-body drying process having been a trend to replace the traditional methods of weld seam's substrate of can-body drying line heating process, taking rational and effective assessment of electromagnetic radiation generated by the drying line and reasonable shielding means to avoid the health workers being at risk is very necessary. The key of electromagnetic shielding is to grasp the spatial distribution of electromagnetic fields, which is the base of carrying out nichetargeting shielding.The electromagnetic radiation protection standards at home and abroad have been collected and analyzed in research subject, and electromagnetic radiation protection standard of light industrial equipments is discussed. Taking three medium frequency induction drying lines commonly used in welding seam's substrate of can-body drying process as the research object, the electromagnetic field distribution of medium frequency induction drying lines used in weld seam's substrate drying of can-body has been experimentally studied by author. The author carry out the finite element simulation of the racetrack-coils medium frequency induction heater on ANSYS, as a complement of experimental study. Changing the technological parameters in ANSYS to simulate, the change of the magnetic field distribution and the heating efficiency of the heater has been obtained when the relative technological parameter changed, which is guidance for further study of electromagnetic shielding.The author proposes to change the coils'mounting direction according to both of the emulational results and the experimental study. The magnetic field intensity and the heating efficiency of the heater after changed have been simulated in ANSYS, and the emulational results showed that the magnetic field intensity decreases markedly and the heating efficiency increases obviously. The experimentally debugging results showed that there is a narrower target heating region round weld seam's substrate, and the magnetic field intensity of experimental research is to be carried out. In addition, some countermeasures and suggestions to the electromagnetic radiation protection of weld seam's substrate of can-body drying line has been put forward by the author, and they have been adopted by the relative enterprise.The design of 16 channels electromagnetic field detection system has been discussed to solve the low efficiency of electromagnetic field measurements for medium frequency drying line. It lays for the foundation for the further development of multichannel practical detection system of electromagnetic fields.
