With the high-speed development of the industrial economy, spring, as a kind of important mechanical basic components, is widely used in industrial field. What's more, the demand for spring forming precision, geometry precision and spatial shape are becoming higher and higher. Due to various technical limitations, we still fall behind in technology of spring production equipment manufacture. CNC spring coiler exist some defects during use such as strong dependence on experience; low automates; inconvenient operation and so on. Therefore, it is urgent and necessary to enhance spring coil manufacturing industry level to develop independent intellectual property rights of the CNC spring coiler.In view of questions above, this paper was studied on the basis of the system of CNC spring coiler. Firstly, the main contents as follows: the mechanical structure and work principle of CNC spring coiler are introduced, and the processing technology and rules of basic elements which consist of the complex spring are analyzed. In addition, the related techniques parameters of the spring and its production process are studied. Secondly, according to machine controlling requirements of CNC spring coiler and spring processing characteristics, master-slave control hardware structure of"PMAC Controller + IPC"is taken as the basis of controlling system. With IPC as platform, background management and scheduling are mainly completed. With PMAC as control core, real-time motion control is realized. In order to make sure that PMAC card can satisfy the controlling requirements, hardware is designed according to the overall scheme, performance of PMAC interface card was studied, and the parameters are set. On this basis, device interconnection figure, control cabinets layout diagram, and the design of control panel are finished. Through adjusting PID parameters the system performance is enhanced. Finally, software structure of CNC spring coiler is introduced. Using C++ Builder 6.0 to develop a user-friendly man-machine interface, and then the main function which is used in the programming is introduced. Functions of each module are realized, relevant functions of PLC program and exercise program are written. Experimental results showed that expected effects are realized by means of experiment.This designed CNC spring coiler machine can meet the needs of modern spring production, there is vital significance to improve the automation level and production efficiency.
