The structure and properties requirements of materials have become stricter because of the rapid development of technology and industrialization so that a single metal can not meet these requirements. However, composite materials get better attention and research due to its capability to be the same with its parent material and "advantages complementary" nature. Therefore, this subject takes research on the extrusion process of copper and aluminum composite panel combining the application need.Finding an alternate for copper is in need owing to its good conductivity but high price and scarce resource. Aluminum is abundant, light and cheap but it has a worse conductivity than copper. Copper and aluminum composite panel can be widely used in several areas since it has the advantages of both copper and aluminum.So far, rolling and explosion compounding are two main ways to produce such panels. The former reduces compounding due to its hard and brittle IMC although it has a simple process and high efficiency. And the latter is dangerous owing to its poor environment and machinery although it is cheap and flexible.This dissertation puts forward an extrusion forming process, which follows the next steps. Firstly, after hot extrusion, aluminum plate, together with copper strips, extrude from the die. Atomic diffusion and combination take place during such a process. And extrusion experiment is conducted integrating such process, as well as a numerical simulation is obtained using Deform-3D aiming at material jam and copper strips breakage. According the simulation results, optimization of extrusion process and matrix structures is processed. Reduce the friction with die, working length of compound die and increase the width of cavity, fillet radius at the corners after daubing lube on the copper surface. According to the results, the extrusion process and die after optimization can realize the hot extrusion of copper and aluminum composite panel. Also, the product has smooth appearance and high conductivity of 92%IACS. On the basis of the analysis of scanning electron microscope of the interlayer, copper diffusion is quite evident, meaning a good metallurgy combination is achieved between the two metals.The hot extrusion process proposed in the dissertation has simple process, low cost and requirement of equipments, strong combination.
