Porous complexes have attracted increasing interests, because of their widely applications in the areas of magnetism, catalysis, separation, and non-linear optics. In our work, two series complexes with porous structure have been synthesized derived from flexible meso-2,3-dibromosuccinic acid and L-glutamate acid.By controlling the pH value of the reaction systems, six novel porous complexes have been designed and synthesized with meso-2,3- dibromosuccinic acid ligand: {[Cu(C4H2Br2O4)]1/2[Cu(C4H2Br2O4) (H2O)2]1/2(C6H12N4)?(H2O)3}n(1);{[Ni(C4H2Br2O4)]1/2[Ni(C4H2Br2O4) (H2O)2]1/2(C6H12N4)?(H2O)3}n(2); [Ni(C4H2Br2O4) (C3H3N2)2(H2O)2]n(3); [Co(C4H2Br2O4)(C3H3N2)2(H2O)2]n(4);[Zn(C4H2Br2O4)(C3H3N2)2]n(5); [Cd2(C4H2Br2O4)2(C3H3N2)4(H2O)4]n(6).By controlling the evaporation rate of the systems, two complexes with chairl porous structures derived from L-glutamate acid have been constructed, {[Ni(C5H7NO4)(H2O)]·(H2O)} n (7) and {[Ni3(C12H10O5N)2 (C10H8N2)3] .5H2O} n (8).All the complexes have been characterized by elemental analyses, IR spectra and X-ray diffraction analyses. Magnetic property studies indicate that there are strong antiferromagnetism between the metal ions in complexes 1, 2 and 4 wheres there is strong ferromagnetism in the complex 3 and 8. The thermal analyses shown that all of the complexes are thermal stable.
