The topic is collaborative research project between the Inner Mongolia University of Science and Technology Institute of Mining Engineering company and Shenhua Group Manner Haibowan mining company. Haibowan mining company Lutian mine mining area No.4 now have placed two 300m long comprehensive mechanized woking faces, in this project we use the method of Similar material simulation in lab to observe and analyze the pressure of the work faces, in order to provide some experimental evidence.In this project we use the method of Similar material simulation to study coal mine face 1604, and get a systematic analysis of the step pitch of coal seam first breaking down, the step pitch of immediate roof firstweighting and periodic weighting, the step pitch of basic roof firstweighting and periodic weighting. During the period of experiment, at first we transform the original laboratory, and design model bracket. Under similar laws, we select materials which are similer to the original materials in pressive strength strength, intensity of tension, shearing strength, and then we determine pressive strength strength, intensity of tension of the top roof and the baseboard. Apply the Orthogonal experiment to ratio of the model material, set up the model and observe to determine the pressure step pitch of the coal seam and the top roof and baseboard, so as to analyze the pressure law. The experiment shows that the similar material simulation study is great help to make better understanding of the structure of coal seam and the process of caving. The success of this experiment not only improved the coal recovery rate, and also reduced the risk of mine accidents, thus produce great technical, economic and social benefits.The success of the1604 overlongth caving face experiment in Lutian coal mine, lays the foundation of high efficiency and accumulated experience for the similar coal mines, and form the the new manner of high efficiency for the overthick coal seam production. Meanwhile, thus set an example of high efficiency production for the similar coal seam conditions in our country.
