Slit rolling is make use of uneven deformation of metal along rolling direction to make one workpiece cut into two or more independent branches, which is use special system of shape of passes and guides. This process has a lot of advantages,such as reduce energy consumption and significantly increase productivity.But because of the complication of MSR(multi-slit rolling), the research of MSR lag behind actual production.Therefore the depth theory study of MSR and rational design of separating guide is necessary means to stimulate the progress of MSR process.This dissertation which make use of FEM(finite element mathed) computer program and caculate rolling force and the flow of metal of workpiece in pre-slitting pass,slitting pass and separating guide according to steel mill productφ12 ribbed bars with 4-strands slit rolling technology.Firstly the author simulate slitting of workpiece in separating guide according to 4-strands slit rolling process use the Deform 6.1 FEM computer program, and caculate the force on slitting roller in 3 directions during bitting stage, and prove the result of simulate is correct which make use of force of crack expand equal to horizontal force of slitting roller. Secondly, draw out the rising curve of bitting stage on pre-slitting and slitting passes which use the Marc FEM computer program. Through compare the curves author describe feature of each curve and discuss the reason.Thirdly calculate forward slip and width on pre-slitting pass with theoretical formula and FEM separately. Summarize the regulation of metal flow according to the calculating result above. Reach conclusion that pre-slitting pass is the most important for distribution of metal of each branch. Fourthly,put forward concept of crucial dimension. Establish the connection of distance of two roll pass comb(h) and distance of two roll bottom(H) which make use of the special rolling pass. What is more,calculate the area of pre-slitting pass with (h).My dissertation mainly study the slit rolling with finite element method combined theoretical validation. Parameters derived from the dissertation will direct guidance the design of separating guide and rolling pass.
