Combined with domestic and international prospect of the industry and production process of Yangquan Changqing oil fracturing proppant company, it will be a trend that preparing a new ceramic proppant whose properties can meet52 MPa and 69 MPa closure pressure standards in the coming years. In this paper, we use the three bauxite and clay from the Changqing Company to prepare a new middle-density and high-strength ceramic proppant. At the same time, we research the relationship between the microscopic mechanism and the performance of the ceramic proppant. Its main contents are as followed:Firstly, the ceramic proppant has prepared in different temperatures by adding three bauxite and clay from Yangquan Company. The results show that:increasing the sintering temperature 0sintering process. When the sintering temperature is 1470 oC, its density is 1.68 g/cm3 and apparent density is 3.07g/cm3. The broken rate is 3.9 % and 7.2 % under 52 and 69 closure pressure respectively, meeting the basic requirements of ceramic proppant in the coming years. In this experiment, the best range of sintering temperature is from 1430 oC to 1470 oC.Secondly, in this experiment, we set the 1470 oC as the stationary sintering temperature. The ceramic proppant has sintered in 1470 oC by adding raw materials with Mn additive. Meanwhile research the Mn additive how to affect the properties of the ceramic proppant. The results show that: when the Mn content is in the right range, it can improve the sintering process. Once it exceeds this range, the properties of the ceramic proppant gets worsen. In this experiment, the best addition is 3 wt%. Its density is 1.74 g/cm3 and apparent density is 3.11 g/cm3. The broken rate is 3.4 % and 6.8 % under 52 and 69 closure pressures respectively, meeting the basic requirements of ceramic proppant.Thirdly, in this experiment, we set the 1470 oC as the stationary sintering temperature. The ceramic proppant has sintered in 1470 oC by adding raw materials with dolomite additive. And research the dolomite additive how to affect the properties of material. The results show that: after adding dolomite, there appears Mg0.6Al12Si1.8O6 new phase. In this experiment, the best addition is3 wt%. Its density is 1.49 g/cm3 and apparent density is 2.73 g/cm3. The broken rate is 3.0 % and 5.5 % under 52 and 69 closure pressures respectively, meeting the basic requirements of ceramic proppant.Fourthly, in this experiment, we set 3wt % Mn and 3wt % dolomite as the stationary additive. The ceramic proppant has sintered from 1300 oC to 1420 oC by adding the stationary additive. And research the temperature how to affect the properties of ceramic proppant. The results show that: In this experiment, the best range of sintering temperature is from 1380 o C to 1400 o C when it adds the stationary additive. Its density is 1.62 g/cm3 and apparent density is 2.94 g/cm3.The broken rate is 7.7 % under 52 closure pressures. But the broken rate is11.8 % under 69 closure pressures, which do not meet the standard. Compared with fist experiment, the sintering temperature drops 90 ℃. The bulk density and apparent density change significantly. But after adding two additives,anti-crushing capacity of the sample declines. The mechanism of phenomenon still needs to explore.
