Our country has rich bauxite mineral resources, high-great bauxite has already been usedeffectively, but the use of low-great bauxite is so limited. The concentration purificationprocessing of low-level has so much limited, so it should open up the use of low-great bauxitefields, such as ceramic proppant in the oil drilling, it has great significance of the reasonable useof low-great bauxite resources. Through the study of the sintering of bauxite, which main rawmaterial of proppant, developing the great performance of proppant. The research step divided into the following several parts:The sample was prepared using GL-60raw bauxite and clay as starting materials, andmanganese powder as sintering agents. It researches the sintering properties of bauxite indifferent areas. The experimental result shows that impurities composition in No.2bauxite has alow degree in contents of Fe2O3、TiO2、K2O and Na2O, it has great sintering properties, and thecompressive strength of the specimen is higher. It introduced suitable additives, such as manganese powder, calcium carbonate, bariumcarbonate, researched the sintering properties of bauxite. The experimental result shows thatwhen adding5.0%manganese powder and2.0%calcium carbonate, sintering properties ofbauxite is relatively better, compressive strength is more intensive. Calcium carbonate canpromote the production of mullite, forming needle-like mullite, which played a significant rolein improving the compressive as strength of the specimen because of whisker growthtoughening; Adding a single additive manganese powder, in order to ensure the sinteringproperties of the specimen, the aluminum content should be about75%, the adding ofcomposite additives, aluminum content can be reduced to65%70%;It should select appropriate firing temperature to study the impact on the performance ofbauxite sintered. The experimental result shows that the proper firing temperature is1360℃according to the ratio of raw materials in this study. It not only can guarantee the sinteringproperties and compression strength of the samples, but also can guarantee the yield ofproppant.
