This paper introduces the features, characteristics of Aspen Plus software, and the general analysis procedures and methods using Aspen Plus. And then Aspen Plus software was used for simulation analysis of pyrolysis gasoline hydrogenation unit. The unit improvement was proposed based on simulation data. The simulation results show that the difference between the simulation and the actual parameters is less than 1%. The feed preheater was provided for 5th carbon removal tower, which reduced the steam pressure of C5 tower and the circulation water content. The optimal operation of 5th carbon removal tower was adjusted in the presence of different feeds(ethane, light diesel oil; ethane, naphtha; light diesel oil; naphtha; hydrogenated tail oil) according to the simulation model.
