In this paper, the extraction of human hair keratin was studied, and the extraction of human hair keratin in solution was used to prepare membrane materials, which can improve the utilization rate of human hair keratin, and can also improve the properties of cellulose and polyvinyl alcohol film on the other hand.First, the extraction method of human hair keratin was studied, and the combination of alkali and reduction method was first used to extract human hair keratin, and the effect of the factors such as temperature, reaction time and urea dosage were studied. At the same time, the structure of human hair keratin was studied by scanning electron microscopy, dissolution rate, gel electrophoresis and infrared spectroscopy. The experiment shows that the first step of alkali method can effectively destroy hair cuticle layer; the optimum extraction process: reductant dosage, urea 8 mol/L, SDS 0.02 mol/L and 80℃ under the condition of solution for 5 hours. The method of human hair fiber dissolution rate as high as 55%, keratin extraction rate is about 90%; at the same time, the extraction of keratin molecule structure preservation is complete, high molecular weight, mainly concentrated in the 25~37kDa.On the basis of the study of human hair keratin extraction, the keratin solution was blended with cellulose, and the keratin/cellulose blend was prepared. The membrane materials were characterized by, X ray diffraction, mechanical strength test, mechanical strength test, mechanical strength test, and moisture absorption property. Crosslinked membrane effect to superior blend membranes. Further study on crosslinked membrane preparation process was optimized, human hair keratin protein and cellulose optimum blending ratio of 2:8, the best cross-linking conditions as the crosslinking agent concentration was 1g / L, crosslinking temperature is 40℃, crosslinking time was 4h.The membrane materials were prepared by the blend of keratin solution with polyvinyl alcohol(PVA). By blending the two in different proportions, the optimal proportion of the two was explored. The properties and structure of the prepared films were studied by mechanical property testing, moisture absorption and moisture retention properties, X- ray diffraction and infrared spectrum. When the proportion of human hair keratin and PVA blends is 3:7, the compatibility is good, and the blending material has better UV absorption properties, meanwhile, the film has better thermal stability.
