With the scientific and techolgical progress, the requirements of activated carbon are getting higher and higher. Activated carbon, which were produced by natural raw materials, didn't meet some special needs. Because they had significant levels of impurities, or uneven distribution of aperture, or poor specific surface area. Therefore, it needs to choose the new raw material and the new method. At the same time with a lot of activated carbon using, the activated carbon, which were abandoned caused the enormous waste of resources and secondary pollution and so on. It brought new problems-regeneration of activated carbon. Considering the prblems above, the content of this paper included preparation of based on the phenolic resin of the activated carbon and study on the adsorption-photopcatalytical chatacter of supported TiO2.In this paper, phenolic resin-based activatied carbon was prepared from phenolic resin by one-step carbonization-activation technolgy with potassium hydroxide as activating agent. The effects of the ratio of KOH to phenolic resin, activation temperature and actication time on adsorption properties of activated carbon were systematically investigated by orthogonal experimental. Through the test measure of TG-DTA, FT-IR, BET, SEM and TEM, the process of carbonization activation, the surface functional group, specific surface area, the porous structures and surface topography of activated carbon were analysed. The results showed that activated carbon with 186.0mL?g-1 of methylene blue, 1417.96mg?g-1 of iodine adsorption, 1667m2?g-1 of specific surface area and 1.246cm3.g-1 of total pore volume could be prepared under the conditions of ratio 2:1 of KOH to phenolic resin, activation temperature at 750℃, activation time for 60min. It had distribution with a mean pore size of about 0.6nm and 0.9nm. It had a large number of active groups such as -OH, C-O-C, C=C etc on the surface.TiO2/AC complex material was prepared by sol-gel method taken phenolic resin-based activated carbon on the above optimized conditions as the carrier. Then the structure of TiO2/AC complex material was characterized analysis. Under UV light irradiation conditions, the absorption-photocatalytic degradation experiments of methylene blue were carried out. The influence factors of sintered temperture, charge number of TiO2, solution concentration, pH of solution and repetitive use times of TiO2/AC the complex materials structure performance were discussed. The results showed that the crystal of TiO2 was anatase under calcination temperature form 500℃to 700℃. The adding of phenolic resin-based activated carbon made the average particle size of TiO2 decreased, the crystal transformation inhibited, and the phase change temperature improved. Removal percent of methylene blue was largest when calcination temperature was 600℃and mass percent of TiO2 was 18.8%. Moreover, the effects of the concentration and pH of the solution were lower. Besides, along with its repetitive use times increasing, the elimination rate was higher compared with the activated carbon supported TiO2. Thus, the goal of activated carbon light regeneration by TiO2 was achieved.
