In pace with the fast development of modern manufacture industry, great advances have been made in traditional cutting technology, which brings heavy pressure to EDM. Because of its unique processing technology and processing methods so that in some specific areas of EDM irreplaceable advantages .The Major research content and innovation results of this essay are following:1,In this paper, the starting mechanism of electric discharge machining in order to EDM machining as a research object, the force suffered on the electrode surface for analysis. Studied through experiments in a particular processing environment, the various parameters on the impact of electrode wear;2,Of EDM pulse discharge in the processing of the workpiece surface when the temperature field is analyzed and calculated. Application of the principle of heat transfer obtained corrosion pit depth and current, pulse width and thermal role of the area of relationships;3,The application of energy discharge, and setting up a basic model of electrode wear. EDM process to conduct experiments on the above model validation and improvement;4,Using finite element analysis software ANSYS to the point heat source model simulation, obtained around the point heat source and the temperature field distribution and heat transfer in the process of dynamic effects chart; Through the contrast the experimental results with simulation results, for the first time put forward the EDM electrode wear and processing time for relationships.5,By EDM machining process of theoretical analysis, experimental results and finite element analysis ,resulted in loss of some of the laws of the electrode to explore methods for reducing the electrode wear, electrode amendment and replacement of electrode on-line compensation electrode wear compensation basic strategy.
