| With the appearance of new type material, more and more combined EDM technology is invented. Based on the research of Electric Discharge Machining, this thesis put forward the grinding assisted EDM method and applies it into machining the silicon carbide ceramic. In this thesis, the trend of surface roughness and tool electrode wear are explored in different machining parameters the main contents of this paper are as follows:1.In this paper the finite element simulation model were built. The mode was used to study discharge current and pulse width influence on the rate of material remove. This study aimed to simulate the processing of copper, steel and silicon carbide ceramic. The research find out that discharge crater increases as the single pulse strengthens. The flow field model of the experimental system were built and the simulation study was made. The best way of flushing we found is in accordance with the direction of electrode is movement.2. Experiment system was established and analyzed the mechanism of grinding assisted EDM.A special processing tool was designed for achieving grinding assisted EDM, and was used to process the steel and silicon carbide ceramic. The results show that, with the method of grinding assisted EDM, the surface roughness and the relative electrode wear of the work piece are improved significantly. The surface roughness of Ra is reduced to 3.01μm, and the relative electrode wear is reduced to 26.07%. |
