As CNC machine tool is developed in high speed, high accuracy, and high efficiency direction, Dynamic design method is needed to upgrade the competitive power of our machine tool in world. Its key factor is the configurating of accurate dynamic model of machine tool including joints. Linear Rolling Guide way (LRG) is one important functional unit of CNC machine tool, which has prominent effect on performance of machine tool. So, research on dynamic performance of LRG joint has important meaning on upgrading the level of design and manufacture of our machine tool.This paper made oneself design experiment system as the research object. The primary idea is researching the dynamic performance of LRG joint using both theory and test and establishing its finite element model, researching the method of establishing the finite element model of experiment system including LRG joint, which could be amended and validated by test on the physical machine.The main content of this paper is as followed:(1) This paper has summarized the state of development that the studies on dynamic performance of machine tool joints and subject matter existing at present, introduced the key method of reach on the dynamic performance of joints, and brought a new way combined by theoretical calculation, dynamic test and FEA to research the performance of joints.(2) The author regards one LRG as the research object. By analyzing its structural trait, the theoretical dynamic model of LRG has been given. Then, the accurate finite element model LRG joint has been established.(3) The finite element model of single slide block experiment system including LRG joints had been established and finite element analysis had been done.(4) The above-mentioned theoretics and the accurate finite element model LRG joint apply to the full machine and progress detailed research. (5) The paper has researched for experiment project design and established relatively approach the practice machine tool of four slip block experiment system, The finite element model of one including LRG joints had been established and finite element analysis had been done. The dynamic performance of experiment system was obtained, which could be used as basic parameters in dynamic design. Contrasted this, the model without LRG joint had been also established. The large difference between the two FEA results of model can show the effect which the LRG joint act on the dynamic performance of machine tool.This paper presented a new way to research the dynamic performance of LRG joint. It can also be used on study of other kind of joint, which made the configuration of dynamic model of entire CNC machine tool be possible. The conclusion of this paper could be a gist for dynamic design of machine tool.
