The machine tool's dynamic characteristics have great effect on the production quality. The linear rolling guide is applied on the lathe more and more widely. Its static and dynamic parameters influence greatly on the machine tool's dynamic characteristics. This thesis is mainly concerned about the influence of the linear rolling guide's static and dynamic parameters on the machine tool's dynamic characteristics. This thesis is based on the experimental mode analysis, theoretical calculation and the finite element analysis(FEA).This method can be applied to the system reduced to spring and damp. The specimen of this project is the CKS6125 lathe made by Shenyang Machine Tool Co., Ltd. It includes machine tool bed, guide, saddle and slide carriage, etc. The linear rolling guide is the product of the THK Co., Ltd..Firstly, this thesis introduces the FEA and the software ANSYS. As an advanced and sophisticated analytical procedure, the FEA is applied more and more in the dynamic analysis of machine tool industry. Besides, ANSYS is a large general-purpose software, which can be used to analyze static, dynamic, harmonic response and transient dynamic analysis of the machine tool.Secondly, this thesis measures the static stiffness of the linear rolling guide by micrometer gauge. The amplitude and frequency of it is measured through shock excitation test, while the dynamic stiffness and damp is calculated by parameter identification method.Thirdly, the CAD model is built by Solidworks software, which is introduced to ANSYS software to make FEA. The analyses are under the situation of neglecting the effect of the linear rolling guide and including the effect. The two analyses show different results. The nature frequency and amplitude curve of the lathe are obtained through shock excitation test. The comparison between the results of the FEA under different situations and the test results, indicates that the result of the FEA which taking into account of the static and dynamic stiffness of the linear rolling guide is more close to the actual result.
