This article introduces the kind and characteristic of byproduct gas in the iron and steel industry, indicates the essentiality of reclaiming and making use of byproduct gas. Surrounding the issue of internal steel industry reclaiming and making use of byproduct gas, it puts forward some advanced methods. With the importantance to setting up scientific balance of byproduct gas in the steel corporation, it analyses influencing factors of byproduct gas balance, and presents some measures. Analysing the byproduct gas supply system, make use of mathematics model optimizes residual byproduct gas. The mathematics model reduces emission of gas, enhances the use efficiency of gas, and provides an effective way for the energy sources management.Setting up mathematic model to residual gas in gas holders and boilers, make use of LINGO software optimizes model. The objective is to minimize the total cost, which is composed of fuel cost, penalty costs and electricity generation benefit, aim to this object function, include next several master restrictions:1. Substance balance restriction, residual gas is equal to the sum both the gas amortized in the gas holder and the gas consumed in the boiler, and gas consumed in the boiler is equal to the sum of each burner.2. Energy balance restriction, namely in order to keep natural production must satisfy energy requirement.3. Gas holder restriction, gas fluctuates in safe range of gas holder.4. Boiler burner restriction, describe the change of burner.5. Resource restriction, every equipment operates in natural range.6. No—minus restriction, namely every restriction must not exceed zero.Aim to two situations when residual gases are blast furnace gas and converter gas and when residual gases are blast furnace gas, converter gas and coke gas, make use of mathematics model to find the optimization project, and make analysis to the model result. Due to mathematics model, gas emission has been avoided availably, and at the same time, the plant has obtained maximal benefit of electricity.
