The step of aircraft riveting assembly has the heaviest workload in the process of aircraft manufacture, and the quality of aircraft riveting assembly has a direct impact on the life-span of the aircraft structure and the performance of the aircraft. At present, automatic drilling and riveting system has been widely used in aircraft riveting assembly in foreign countries, so the quality of riveting assembly and production efficiency have been greatly improved. But now domestic engineers merely focus on applied research and the study or design of automatic riveting equipment is also a blank in our country, which has seriously affected the development process of advanced aircraft.This issue under the modular design theory, design of a wall assembly of aircraft, auto-drilling rivet system for drilling rivet of aircraft automation. Firstly, describing the basic concept of modular design and the characteristics, and pointed out that the general steps of the modular design. Modular design of the basic idea is an idea that different functions within a certain range of different functions or the same performance, different specifications of the products on the basis of functional analysis so that division and to design a series of functional modules, through the selection and combination of modules may constitute different products ,so that to meet the different needs of the market of modern design methods.Based on the current internationally accepted that the structure and properties of riveting of automatic drilling equipment, firstly, analysis of the automatic drilling rivet workflow, and based on modular design, according to functional requirements of the automatic drilling system of the module into riveting, and lastly,design of the module mechanical structure of the corresponding. One detail and design of the entire auto-drilling rivet system, that is an important this part of the end of the actuator modules. And in accordance with modular design, set up the corresponding module repository. The whole system of automatic drilling rivet is designed similar to the structure of CNC machine tools, The system consists of plane seats, CNC brackets, drill the end of the actuator still riveting control system.This issue is also designed the control system of the automated drilling rivet system, using the CNC machine tools of a common control module,that is the use of programmable logic controller (PLC), AC servo motors,and so on.
