After a large-scale construction period, bridge engineering in China will come into a comprehensive maintenance and upkeep phase in the 21st century. Defects detection of Bridge structure and evaluation of structure's properties is the premise of strengthening the bridge for maintenance. Also it is guarantee to use of the bridge. Currently, it maybe exists many methods of bridge structure evaluation system. In this paper, on the basis of existing research results, and based on static loading test, combination of finite element numerical simulation, the writer uses static load test results to amend the error of the initial finite element model. It makes the initial finite element model conform to the actual situation of bridge structure. In this paper, the finite element model updating through the bridge structure of obtaining the actual cross-section flexural stiffness. The use of reliability theory put up a "bridge" between revised model and the performance evaluation of bridge structure. That is the reliable indicator of sub-section's bending stiffness. According to the actual system conditions of bridge structures, to obtain a reliable indicator of the bridge eventually realize the performance evaluation of bridge structures. The main contents of this article and related conclusions are as follows:1. Basic principle and methods of the finite element model updating based on static loading test results are described in this paper. Using finite element model updating technology to amend the initial finite element model thus avoiding the error between the initial finite element model and the actual structure. Eventually it obtains a true beam bending stiffness of cross-section.2. Because of the advantages of Conducting matrix calculation about Matlab,while Carrying out numerical calculations, the author uses Matlab to achieve the preparation of procedures.It verifies the feasibility of the program,and implements the finite element model updating of H-beam through an example.It achieves the expection of cross-section flexural stiffness of beam. Theoretical analysis and numerical examples show that:using static load test results can implement the initial finite element model updating, and can correct the model error of initial model. Eventually it is able to access the actual situation of the calculation model.3. Starting from the revising sub-beam bridge structure of the cross-section flexural stiffness, and using theory of reliability as the revised model and performance evaluation of beam bridge structure the link, according to the actual system conditions,(Series or parallel system), by analyzing the a reliable indicator of beam bridge's sub-section, to gain a reliable indicator of Beam bridge structure, Eventually, it realize the structural performance evaluation of beam bridges.4. By carrying on the static load test of box girder structure, the author gives evaluation of box girder structure of the capacity and structural performance in this paper. Compared with the conventional evaluation methods, both conclude that the same.lt points that this method can get the desired result.Using finite element model updating technology to complete the updation of true cross-section flexural stiffness of bridge structures.Compared with the stiffness which Norm calculated,updated results is more accurated.On this basis, using reliability theory to analysis structural performance of bridge structure,it provides a new way for the performance evaluation of bridge structures.
