Based on the high requirement of naval mast stealth, meta-synthetic mast is always made by composite materials with good electromagnetic wave permeability. For the special mechanical characteristics which Composite has, if the naval standard which based on the steel cylinder mast is remained used as the design load in the mast structure design, it's probably that the mast will be damaged by local overload. Thereby numerical research on wind load characteristics of meta-synthetic mast is carried on in this paper.Firstly,by taking octagon section meta-synthetic mast as the research object and selecting calculation flow field dimension, mesh type and number and turbulence model reasonably, it is obtained that numerical calculation can simulate wind load characteristics correctly within engineering permissible error range.Secondly,for the special mechanical characteristics of composite make the mast flexible, if the displacement of mast is over size, it will influence the solving of the flow field, and then influence the distribution of wind pressure. Thereby the fluid-structure interaction analysis of mast is carried on, and the differences between results of fluid-structure interaction numerical calculation, results of model test and results of numerical calculation without fluid-structure interaction are also obtained.In the process of validation verification of hexagon section meta-synthetic mast simplified load, it is found that the maximum displacement value of the naval standard load is smaller than that of the actual load. If the naval standard load is used in the design of mast, it is probably that the mast will be damaged for the local overload. The simplified load proposed in the paper has considered the local effect, and can provide reference for the design of composite mast. The wind load characteristics of quadrilateral , hexagon , octagon section meta-synthetic mast under different reynolds number and different wind direction angle are calculated in subsequent. The variation law of the mast load is obtained by calculations under different working condition. Research shows that the Reynolds numbers adopted in this paper all exceed critical Reynolds number. Average pressure coefficient and fluctuating pressure coefficient tend to be stable following with reynolds number. The Average pressure coefficient and fluctuating pressure coefficient of quadrilateral , hexagon , octagon section meta-synthetic mast distribute homogeneously along height direction of the masts. The average pressure coefficient in the circumference doesn't change following with reynolds number, and it was simplified to be used conveniently in mast structure design.
