With the rapid development of China's social and economic, transport demand has grown rapidly, it's difficult to relieve urban traffic congestion just rely on constructing urban road especially urban expressway, so it must rely on advanced traffic management and control measures to alleviate the traffic pressure, and increase road capacity to meet growing traffic demand.The most direct and effective way to solve traffic congestion is the use of ramp control. This thesis aim at urban expressway, analysis the characteristics of urban expressway and the functions of expressway system of urban road net-work, and the basic sections, side roads, entrances and exits of the traffic operation of expressway System's mechanism.Based on mature theory of reference, studies urban ramp and exit ramp optimal control side control, adjacent entrance ramp signal coordination system Specific, Propose control targets of multi-ramp and coordination control method that based on optimal control strategy.This paper give a quick way main road dynamic traffic flow model and Side road Flow according to urban expressway traffic characteristics of the system, and give the model of l the main line services to the largest target flow that combines main and side rode flow conservation to put out corresponding control strategies in line with the main line of the low peak flow and peak congestion expressway system. And the corresponding control methods were used vissim simulation verification.Finally, summarized the main research work in this paper, and proposed further study in future.
