In recent years, the collision catastrophic accidents happen more frequently and bring enormous economic losses and lives losing,mechanism of ship-bridge collisions and analysis of anti-collision equipment are paid attention to in the world area. Present around the bridge against ship collision research focused on analyzing damage behaviors of their structures and energy absorption mechanism in collision process and developing effective measures to improve the practicability of anti-olliding installations.The collision between ship and anti-collision equipment is a complicated non-linear dynamic response process under extreme large load in a very short time. Because of the complicacy and the uncertain factors in collision process,it is difficult to make theoretic analysis by building up an accurate mathematic model. Therefore, numerical simulation by finite element analyses will play a more and more important role in the analysis of collision problems between ship and bridge or equipment for anti-collision.This paper summarizes the existing ship-bridge collision research, analyzing bridge pier protection device characteristics and mechanism of ship-bridge collision, Floating variable cross-section protection device is designed for pier of zhuzhou Hong-gang bridge according to its characteristic of pier. By ANSYS/LS-DYNA software ship collided with the whole process of the bridge is simulated, the anti-collision capability of anti-collision equipment and pier are analyzed as well as parameter analysis. Some measures are proposed about improving struture capability of anti-collision and effect of absorbing energy. The main text of the study are as follows:1. Analysis of the ship-bridge collision mechanism, numerical simulation of ship-bridge collision involved in the basic theories and key technologies, and explicit nonlinear finite element software ANSYS/LS-DYNA were introduced.2. Design request and type are summarized about anti-collision equipment. Work theory, advantages and disadvantages and using range are introduced.Floating variable cross-section protection device is designed for pier of Hong-gang bridge according to its characteristic of River Basin water level drop in which a large, main pier for the tapered, and the main pier navigational clearance limited features. 3. Being hit on the 1000t cargo pier and pier protection device with a simulation, and Study the impact of working conditions during the pier damage, collision force, energy, deformation, stress and other changes, analyze the Impact Performance.4. Through the collision protection device performance parameters, the comparison of thickness of steel around the change of impact velocity and impact force and energy absorption effect was proposed to improve the crashworthiness and energy absorption effect of the relevant measures.
