The consumer society is the specific research background while the consumer culture is the main clues in this paper. This paper analyzes and researches the phenomena of the contemporary interior environmental design on the sociology of consumption and cultural studies. In a consumer society, consumption ways build our daily life and reflect the aesthetic features of the life. The Consumption Culture is the reflection of the summation of the consumption concept, pattern and behavior that are contained in the human material and spiritual production, consumption process. In the contemporary society, the interior design is one of the most important symbolic carriers to consumption culture. It is the coagulation of market information, aesthetic tastes and lifestyles, as well as many other factors, which appears no authority, no trend and diversity styles. Moreover, the consumption times takes account of emotional value and feeling value, which pursues the visual design aesthetics as the design target in the modern interior design. At the same time, consumption times is no longer a material world , but a symbolic world, which not only satisfies with the design of the interior features, but also turns to keen on symbols of cultural creation in the interior design field, and goes after symbol design aesthetic to express self-reflection and self-worth.
