The filling up of reservoir is a global problem, which on one hand causes the safety problem and decreases the reservoir profits, on the other hand exists as one threat to the life and property in the downstream. Therefore, the deep research on the relative subjects become even more important for the experts who study on sand.There are many hilly reservoirs and plain reservoirs in Xinjiang. Because of the cross sections of plain reservoir with large bottom area were with a broad surface, the problem of the whole desilting of reservoirs are almost inextricable with normal measures. In this research, a self-pressure pipe desilting system was designed with a pipeline network laid on the bottom of the reservoir for sediment discharge. Through the study, there is a conclusion:by adjusting the water head, diameter of pipe, diameter of sand,λand so on, so as to adjust the economical velocity of flow to 2.5-3.5 m/s, and increasing the concentration of muddy water at the entrance of pipe could efficiently desilt and solve the sedimentation of plain reservoir with large bottom.Finally, a self-pressure pipe desilting system has designed, after analyzing the desilting of Kezi'er reservoir.
